Sonamarg – Meadow of Gold, Kashmir
Sonamarg is a high-altitude hill station located in the Ganderbal district of Jammu & Kashmir, set against a dramatic backdrop of snow-covered peaks, alpine meadows, and glaciers. The name Sonamarg literally means “Meadow of Gold”, referring to the golden glow the meadows take on during summer.
It is also the gateway to Ladakh via the Zoji La Pass and a popular stop for travelers exploring Kashmir’s upper valleys.
